Dr. Mark Kristian C. Ledda and Dr. Rhoda M. Lilan, internationalization and linkages heads of MLUC and NLUC, respectively, were finally accepted as official participants to the «appInnovations in Teaching and Learning on Industry 4.0 and Smart Nation«app, an International Continuing Professional Education Program (ICPED).

Anchored in internationalization efforts of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), this project seeks to further expand the capabilities of HEIs in developing leaders, workforce and a citizenry ready for «appSmart Nation«app.

Far Eastern University (FEU), together with Nanyang Polytechnic International (NPI) in Singapore, will ensure the actualization of the program.

This is a one year-engagement that includes a week-long training to be conducted by NPI, Singapore on November 8-11, 2021. Thirty selected participants, including Dr. Ledda and Dr. Lilan, are expected to produce a roadmap of training needs for their respective institutions. The roadmap is geared towards faculty capability development programs for the adoption of the Industry 4.0 and Smart Nation vision.

The program aims to develop key academic managers from Philippine Higher Education Institutions who will serve as experts and key resource speakers in cascading the program and their learnings to other Philippine institutions. 

Dr. Ledda is also the Program Chair of the Master in Information Technology at MLUC while Dr. Lilan is a researcher and Faculty Member of the College of Information Systems at NLUC. (Jesus Rafael B. Jarata)
